The advantage of buying through this portal is that in the event of a problem with the laptop a JB technician can come to the school and repair it.
The school IT staff can assist with diagnosing and logging problems which makes the repair process simple
You can purchase a laptop from anywhere you like, however in the event of a warranty related problem you will need to organise the repair yourself
The school may be able to arrange a short term loan laptop while you’re waiting for the repair
If you choose to buy a refurbished laptop please make sure it comes with at least 12 months warranty
School can be a really tough environment for a laptop, so insurance is a really good idea. The add-on insurance offered on the BYOD portal will cover you for accidental damage
You may also be able to arrange this with your Home contents insurance or your retailer of choice
We highly recommend getting as much physical protection for the laptop as possible which includes a clip on case and a slip case
