Sandringham College Libraries are the heart of our school, providing dynamic and supportive learning environments that foster reading, research and independent learning for all students.
The College operates two libraries—one at each campus—offering welcoming, well-resourced spaces that support both academic learning and student engagement.
Our libraries are staffed by a team of qualified educators and library professionals who are committed to promoting literacy, supporting learning and providing high-quality resources. The libraries are central to the learning culture of the College, offering spaces for study, collaboration and enrichment.
Information Literacy & Research Skills Program
In an increasingly complex digital world, the ability to locate, evaluate and use information effectively is essential. Our Information Literacy program equips students with the skills to critically analyse sources, navigate online information and make informed decisions.
Students develop capabilities in:
- Research and inquiry processes
- Evaluating the credibility of information
- Referencing and academic integrity
- Understanding plagiarism and ethical use of information
These skills are critical for success in senior studies and further education.
Programs and opportunities
The Library team delivers a wide range of academic and co-curricular programs designed to support learning and encourage engagement, including:
- Homework Centre with teacher support
- Guest author presentations
- Book clubs and reading initiatives
- Competitions (short story, poetry and read-a-thons)
- Makerspace activities (craft, art and technology)
- Specialist clubs based on student interest.
Resources
The libraries provide access to an extensive collection of digital and physical resources, supporting students across all areas of the curriculum.
Our online library includes hundreds of thousands of high-quality articles, videos, images and audio resources, alongside curated topic guides developed by our librarians to support specific units of study.
