Years 11-12

Senior Secondary Pathways

In Years 11 and 12, students are supported to select a pathway that aligns with their individual goals, strengths and post-school aspirations. Sandringham College offers a range of senior pathways to ensure that all students can achieve success.
Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

The VCE is an academically focused pathway that prepares students for university and further study. Students undertake a range of subjects, with opportunities to specialise in areas of interest. Assessment includes School Assessed Coursework (SACs) and external examinations.

Vocational Major (VCE VM)

The VCE Vocational Major is a practical and applied learning pathway. It is designed for students who are interested in vocational learning, apprenticeships, traineeships or employment. The program includes Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills, often delivered through both explicit instruction as well as real-world and project-based learning.

Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC)

The VPC is designed for students who require a more flexible and supported learning program. It focuses on building foundational literacy and numeracy, personal development, and employability skills, supporting transition into further education, training or employment.

Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Students in VCE and VCE VM have the opportunity to undertake VET studies, gaining nationally recognised qualifications while completing their secondary education. VET programs provide practical, industry-relevant skills and can contribute to both VCE and VCE VM pathways.
