Performing Arts
Sandringham College has a proud tradition of excellence in the performing arts, offering students rich opportunities to develop their talents, build confidence and perform at a high level. Our programs foster creativity, collaboration and a strong sense of community, with students working alongside peers and staff to deliver outstanding performances.
Each year, the College presents a wide range of performing arts events, including a major school production, two dance concerts, music concerts, pop-up lunchtime performances, a house-based talent quest, and opportunities to participate in interstate and international tours. These experiences ensure students can engage in performance at multiple levels and across a variety of disciplines.
The College Production is the flagship event of the year, involving over 100 students across cast, crew and orchestra. Sandringham College is recognised for the exceptional quality of its productions, with a strong focus on extending students’ skills, creativity and performance experience.
Recent productions include:
- Mary Poppins
- We Will Rock You
- Matilda
- The Wedding Singer
Additional highlights include VCE Theatre Studies performances, showcasing student-directed and ensemble work, as well as a range of Dance Showcases and music soirees and performances across the year.
Students are supported by experienced teachers and industry professionals, with opportunities to contribute both on stage and behind the scenes in areas such as acting, music, dance, lighting, sound and stage management.
Through participation in the performing arts, students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a strong sense of achievement, contributing to the vibrant cultural life of the College.
