Dance Academy

Academy of Performing Arts (Dance)

Sandringham College Academy of Performing Arts (Dance) was established in 2015. The program is a pre-professional dance training program for talented students aged 12 to 18 years.

Dance Academy students participate in weekly classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and pilates classes alongside their core academic subjects. Students attend additional workshops and excursions throughout the year to expose them to a wide variety of dance and performing arts experiences.
Students receive elite technical training to prepare them for VCE and VET dance as well as a career in the performing arts.

Dance Showcase

In Term 2 and 4 Dance Academy students combine with other Sandringham College dance programs to showcase their talents. Performances range from a mixture of classical ballet to modern street funk and are always a huge success. Check our Events section for upcoming performances.

Dance Teachers

The Sandringham College Academy of Performing Arts (Dance) is fortunate to have a number of truly gifted and talented people supporting our students. Each style of dance is taught by an industry professional, who has experience as a professional dancer as well as many years of experience in choreography and teaching. Dance Academy classes will also be held with guest teachers from the professional dance industry throughout the year.
