Academy of Arts (Visual)
Art Academy is an afterschool extension program for Years 7 to 9 students. Approximately 10 students are selected from each year level. As there is a high demand for the program students will be involved in a selection process.
Participating students are challenged to work in a cross year level learning environment to develop technical skills in drawing, painting, and printmaking that will allow them to excel in VCE Art-Making & Exhibiting and as the arts practitioners of the future.
The program is committed to a holistic vision of the arts that acknowledges the importance of community learning and practice within cultural industries. To support this vision, our Academy program provides opportunities for students to engage with their peers, teachers, and established local artists throughout the three-year program.
Art Academy workshops are scheduled for Wednesday after school to avoid disruptions in students’ classroom learning.
