Sandringham College Dance Academy
The Sandringham College Dance Academy, established in 2015, is a pre-professional training program for talented students aged 12 to 18 years.
Dance Academy students participate in weekly classes across a range of styles, including classical ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop, alongside their core academic studies. Students also take part in additional workshops and excursions throughout the year, providing exposure to a broad range of dance and performing arts experiences.
The program delivers high-level technical training, preparing students for VCE and VET Dance pathways, as well as future opportunities within the performing arts industry.
Dance Showcase
In Terms 2 and 4, Dance Academy students combine with other Sandringham College dance programs to showcase their talents. Performances range from classical ballet to contemporary and street styles and are a highlight of the College’s performing arts calendar.
Please refer to the Events section for upcoming performances.
Dance Teachers
The Academy is supported by a team of highly skilled and experienced dance educators and industry professionals. Each style is taught by specialists with professional performance, choreography and teaching experience. Students also have opportunities to work with guest artists from the professional dance industry throughout the year.
