Digital Technology
At Sandringham College, digital technologies are used to support learning through structured, purposeful and evidence-based practice. Students are expected to use devices in line with teacher direction and College routines, ensuring technology enhances learning rather than distracts from it. In accordance with the Victorian Government’s mobile phone and social media policies, students must not access social media platforms during the school day. Technology is used where it adds clear educational value—such as accessing resources, completing extended work and receiving feedback—while maintaining a strong focus on attention, engagement and academic progress.
All students are required to use digital technologies safely, responsibly and respectfully. This includes protecting personal information, communicating appropriately and using devices only for learning purposes during class time. The College works in partnership with families to support students to develop positive digital habits and understand their responsibilities as digital citizens. Any misuse of technology is managed in line with Department of Education policy, including the Acceptable Use of Digital Technologies Policy and the Student Engagement and Behaviour policies.
