School Council

Sandringham College Council operates in accordance with the guidelines established by the Department of Education. It plays a key role in setting the strategic direction and policy framework of the College, while the Principal is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of these priorities.

The Council reflects a locally agreed structure within Department guidelines and includes representation from parents, staff, students and co-opted community members. At Sandringham College, membership comprises the Principal, four elected parent representatives, two staff representatives, two co-opted members, and two student representatives selected by the student body.

The Principal serves as the critical link between the School Council, College staff and students and the Department of Education, ensuring that policy is effectively translated into practice and that the College operates in alignment with system priorities.

School Council elections are conducted annually, with a call for nominations communicated to the community via the College website and Compass.
